The Greater College Park Rise Zone has been approved by the Secretary of Commerce

Pursuant to Economic Development Article §5-1404 (e), the designation of the Greater College Park RISE Zone as been approved.

EDC worked in partnership with the University of Maryland , City of College Park, and the Town of Riverdale to achieve this monumentus win for the Greater College Park area.

The Rise Zone designation will assist in creating important tools to support growing startup technology companies coming out of University of Maryland. This win will also create potential for quantum computing ecosystem anchored by IonQ, world’s largest capitalized quantum computing firm.

EDC is currently working with University of Maryland to add a rental assistance program to the RISE Zone, as authorized by the General Assembly.
