bwtech’s Maryland NEW VENTURE Pitch Night 2026

Pitch Night marks the culmination of bwtech’s Maryland NEW VENTURE Program—an intensive, team-based experience designed to launch the next generation of technology ventures. Seven teams—each including an entrepreneur, a mentor, and graduate student fellows—will participate in a “Shark Tank-style” competition to share their ideas for commercially viable technology solutions that address critical challenges in cybersecurity, infrastructure, utilities, and supply chains.

The entrepreneurs will present to a panel of judges who will evaluate each presentation on its strength, market potential, and real-world impact.

Now in its sixth year, the Maryland NEW VENTURE Program, created by bwtech in partnership with UMBC, accelerates the launch of high-potential tech ventures. Since January 2025, the teams have collaborated weekly, facilitated by bwtech, to refine their ideas and build go-to-market strategies with guidance from industry experts.
