GlycoMimetics is a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of engineered “glycomimetic” drug therapies. Carbohydrates are involved in numerous biological processes including, but not limited to, cell differentiation, migration, tumor progression and metastases, inflammation and infection. Using our expertise in carbohydrate chemistry and biology, we have become leaders in the design of proprietary, small molecule, carbohydrate “mimetics” to treat disease. We are applying this proprietary technology towards the advancement of novel specialty medicines, with an initial focus on hematology/oncology indications (e.g. vaso-occlusive crises associated with sickle cell disease and acute myeloid leukemia).
