Deep Root Bio uses technology developed at JHU/APL to rapidly reprogramming plants from the inside out. In a matter of weeks, we can create pest- and drought-resistant crops, plants that can clean up oil spills, and roots that pull valuable metals from soil. We do this using a special class of microbe called endophytes to deliver plant modifying biomolecules directly to their cells, and our platforms flexibility lets us design microbes that align with EPA regulatory pathways, streamlining approval while keeping deployments safe and scalable.
