YOUR ROLE:

As a Kion Senior Account Executive focused on federal civilian enterprises, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to help customers realize the promise of migrating to the cloud by defining a multi-cloud enablement strategy. Your broad responsibilities will include developing and managing a growing book of business for public sector organizations. You will drive business and technical relationships and close business by helping to define and identify key opportunities, markets, contract vehicles, and solutions. You will establish deep business and technical relationships through your knowledge of the customer’s mission and environment. You’ll have day-to-day interactions with the CXO/Director-level customers in the top strategic customer accounts. You’ll assist customers in using the Kion platform to enable a safe, secure, and well-managed cloud environment where organizational transformation goals can be realized.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Serve as a key member of the Kion Sales Team in helping to achieve overall market and technical strategy – execute against strategies, program development, investments, channel development and other important efforts to make Kion the best fit for our customers’ needs.
  • Identify and engage public sector accounts, using a solution selling approach.
  • Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and commit to a forecast of specific business opportunities within a time period. Perform the full range of sales activities from demand generation campaigns to pipeline management by engaging with customers, Kion internal resources (Professional Services, Solution Architects, Marketing, etc.), and Kion partners.
  • Maximize and leverage the use of Salesforce.com and other internal Kion systems.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and become a client relationship builder.
  • Set a tactical sales plan for your target markets in-line with the Kion direction and goals.
  • Identify specific prospects/partners/channels to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case, leveraging other senior sales and leadership team members where appropriate to overcome selling challenges.
  • Work closely with the customer to ensure they are maximizing the use of platform, ensuring availability of technical resources when required, and documenting wins in use cases and case studies.
  • Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.
  • Prepare and give opportunity reviews to the sales leadership team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers.
  • Leverage your knowledge of cloud computing and enterprise integration with major vendors to assist customers in moving forward and accelerating cloud adoption.

WHAT WE ARE EXPECTING FROM YOU (I.E., THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE):

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the US federal government industry .
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in enterprise technology sales and/or management consulting.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing in Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud.
  • Experience selling and delivering consulting/professional services or enterprise B2B software.

  • Prior experience working in partner/business development and/or program management with a focus on highly regulated markets like Healthcare and Financial Services.
  • Prior experience working within a rapid growth startup environment.
  • Bachelors degree.
