Research Associate – Vaccine Stabilization and Logistics
The Research Associate will be involved principally in the fill-finish, cryopreservation, storage and logistics components of Sanaria’s operations related to manufacture of PfSPZ Vaccine and related products, and research in these areas. The position requires the practice of sterile technique, familiarity with GMP manufacturing, and Good Documentation Practice and a knowledge of inventory control and vaccine cold chain logistics. Also required are experience working in complex settings, the capability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and experience in managing defined projects.
Qualified candidates must have a BS or similar degree in bio-engineering, health sciences or related discipline and 3+ years of relevant experience in the biotech field. Preferred relevant experience may include GMP fill-finish and operations related to clinical and/or pharmaceutical development (drugs, vaccines or medical devices), and/or vaccine or drug cold chains and international logistics operations and contingencies. The candidate should also be able to interact constructively with suppliers, vendors and couriers, perform data entry and analysis and initiate SOPs and reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as are teamwork and interpersonal skills and the willingness to learn new experimental, applied, manufacturing and clinical trial-related techniques. The position also requires adaptability to work in collaboration with other teams as needed.
