Cellphire Therapeutics is a Rockville, MD-based biotechnology company focused on developing platelet-based products to save lives. Our lead product, Thrombosomes®, is a platelet-based freeze-dried hemostatic. Cellphire’s goal is to revolutionize hemostasis management through the development of the next generation of platelet-based products that will efficiently stop bleeding. We believe that our products will ensure platelet availability to all patients regardless of location or environment.
The Research Associate Scientist is an entry-level technical position at Cellphire. You will work with a team to plan, design and conduct complex and advanced experimentation, design and formulate biological reagents and on assays for POC and IVD instruments utilizing novel drugs under development at Cellphire. We would like you to have experience in design control, new product development, and have provided support for existing products. Prior work in cell-based therapeutics is optimum.
What You’ll Do
Generally you will be responsible for:
Conducting R&D assays
Maintaining accurate lab data including logging and presenting in a professional format
Maintaining a clean and safe lab space
Training new staff in R&D methods and procedures
Sharing results with the R&D team and managers through reports and presentations
Conducting literature reviews and developing experimental designs to answer research questions and reach key milestones
Your day will include the following:
Designing experiments capable of addressing scientific questions in a logical manner
Recording, analyzing, and organizing data and results in a timely manner
Accurately communicating results to senior staff in the form of reports, summaries, and presentations
Working safely and efficiently in a BSL-2 lab environment
Following Cellphire policies and procedures
Training new staff when necessary
Who You Are
The ideal candidate has the following:
Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, organic chemistry, pharmaceutics, or related field
You are currently
Working within a Research Discovery group performing routine laboratory experiments with direction
Skilled at pipetting, measuring pH, weighing reagents, and calculating molarities/concentrations
Working with Research teams in a lab environment
