Primary responsibilities include: assisting Maryland life science companies and connecting them to resources and partners for continued growth; working with incubators, accelerators, and other ecosystem partners to support innovation, technology transfer, and commercialization efforts; advising companies on business plans and fundraising; assisting with location searches; executing relevant contracts; contributing to efforts to market Maryland as a center for innovation in the life sciences and assisting with the development of appropriate marketing materials. Other functions are to develop and manage joint incentive programs with international partners as well as support and coordinate OLS international trade mission activities; coordinate these activities with other Commerce teams, including the Office of Business Development, the Office of Strategic Industries and Entrepreneurship, and the Office of International Investment and Trade.

Travel throughout the state and limited foreign travel is required.

The selected candidate will possess strong administrative, organizational, project management, and written and oral communication skills; knowledge of Maryland’s life sciences community and current state, federal, and private assistance programs; possess the ability to execute concurrent projects in a timely manner and have a working knowledge of grants, budgeting, and finance.
