Our lead product, Thrombosomes®, is a platelet-based freeze-dried hemostatic. We are looking for an experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Manager who will manage Cellphire’s global portfolio. Reporting to the General Counsel’s office, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis of the competitive landscape, developing policies and procedures that support the company’s standards of ethics and integrity, and managing compliance with the company’s IP policies.  This is a robust opportunity and is designed for a professional who is currently doing similar work for a law firm or as internal counsel, preferably in the biotechnology sector.    

Job Description

What You’ll Do  

Generally, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Working interdependently as manager of the company’s global IP portfolio under the general supervision of the Deputy General Counsel 
  • Conducting quality control and monitoring compliance with company’s IP policies and procedures 
  • Demonstrating up-to-date expertise in intellectual property law and processes and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of IP-related action plans 
  • Designing, developing, and implementing IP training for internal teams and providing ongoing support 
  • Modeling compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity 
  • Participating in complex legal matters in area of responsibility 
  • Providing and supporting the implementation of business solutions 
  • Responding to high volume, complex incoming requests on legal matters and projects 
  • Compiling and maintaining records of documentation required for legal matters and projects 


Who You Are  

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of global trademark and patent administration experience at either a law firm or as part of an in-house law department.  Specifically, you have experience in these areas: 

  • Landscape research and analysis identifying and proposing recommended solutions to address potential IP risks and opportunities  
  • Serving as a hands-on contributor and collaborator with other stakeholders in product development process 
  • Managing the process and workflow of worldwide trademark filing, prosecution, renewals and conflicts (oppositions, cancellations, infringements, and UDRPs)  
  • Trademark prosecution and infringement risk analysis 
  • Managing a global trademark and patent portfolios including working with domestic and foreign outside IP counsel 

Additionally you have: 

  • The ability to collaborate with stakeholders who possess varying degrees of understanding about IP  
  • Computer research and investigation skills, including familiarity with electronic IP management tools and solutions and online research tools and databases  
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with database software, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
