Your Role:

In this role, reporting directly to the Operations Director for Support Services in Rockville, Maryland you will have responsibility for the operation of multiple facilities across a five (5) building campus totaling approximately 174k ft2.  You will manage a team of supervisors who oversee engineering, systems validation, equipment maintenance, site security, and outside contractors.  Facility operation must adhere to strict cGMP/cGLP compliance as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as well as current, local County, State, and Federal standards and guidelines.  This role will also play a part in future expansion plans. The primary responsibilities of the position are planning, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and equipment of buildings and facilities to include:

 

  • Start-up and assist with new plant equipment.
  • Manage building systems, repairs and the preventive maintenance program.
  • Assist with renovation and/or fit out of existing facilities and new building construction.
  • Develop the annual Facilities plan, budget, and CAPEX, preventative maintenance to be accomplished.
  • Communicate plan to relevant organizational leadership and manage the plan according to established budgets and timelines.
  • Negotiate and coordinate contracts and service with outside vendors.
  • Lead project teams involved in the allocation of space and the planning of future expansions.
  • Act as the point of contact for MilliporeSigma with various building landlord(s) and local and state regulatory agencies.

 

Who You Are:

You are an experienced professional with skills related to leadership, mentoring, coaching, problem solving, customer service, and planning.  Your experience includes engineering, facility maintenance, and project management.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years relevant experience in engineering and facility maintenance.
  • Project management experience.
  • People management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and Engineering software systems. (Siemens, KAYE and/or Honeywell BMS a plus).
  • In-depth knowledge of all maintenance functions (e.g. staffing, GLP, cGMP, CMMS, etc.), corporation facilities and systems, EHS (e.g., multiple sites, HEPA filtered HVAC, building management systems, fire alarm systems etc.). Project and Construction Management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable codes and enforcement standards, including SOP’s, systems history and change control.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Life Science or BioPharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, customer service and planning skills.
