What You'll Be Doing
As our Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the financial activities of our company. This includes preparing financial reports, and summaries, and forecasting our future growth.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports
- Responsible for creating reports that provide insights into a company's financial standing, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and payroll
- Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets
- Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods
- Improve administrative and operational accounting services such as treasury management, payment processing, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing.
- Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking and lease negotiations, and partnership discussions
- Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination
- Works with executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process
- Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share
- Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas and new markets
- Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion
Who You Are
- Have five to ten years of experience in a mid to senior-level finance or accounting position w/a CPA
- Hold a Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with strong Accounting Experience
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
- Have the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
- Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product line profitability analysis
- Experience in building and leading strong teams
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
