Event Details

Maryland sales & use tax exemptions for manufacturing, biotech and pharmaceutical companies are deceptively simple.  However, there are many areas that are complex and often overlooked by taxpayers that could cost companies thousands, if not, millions of dollars in overpaid Maryland sales & use taxes.  First, the research & development exemptions are very broad in the State of Maryland.  We will discuss this example, as well as how you can ensure you are protected under a state examination of records.  In addition, we will discuss real property contracts with respect to cleanroom and clean zone construction projects.  Are you sure the general contractor and its subcontractors are using the exemption certificate properly?  We will provide guidance on how to protect your company against over payments, as well as underpayments on these types of projects.
